Released in 1962 to replace the Willys Station Wagon, the Wagoneer was one of the first SUVs. It was more car-like than its utilitarian predecessor but it nonetheless offered users serious off-road prowess. It gradually moved upmarket during its unusually long production run, and it became the Grand Wagoneer in 1984 to stand out from the XJ-based Wagoneer released that same year. Production finally ended in 1991.
